Brokaw
I am not sure if you heard/saw this today. This is in no way pointing a finger at President Obama, but rather pointing the finger at the liberal media. Tom Brokaw likened this inauguration celebration in DC to the fall of the communist regime in the “Velvet Revolution”.
I know CNN will not carry this story, but come on; how can you be so irresponsible as a national news figure? Click the link below for the audio.
Thank You
In my small way I want to extend my thanks to former Mr. President George Bush. He has served this great country through very though times. He has done what was necessary to protect the people of America. I am glad to see Mr. Bush have the weight of this position lifted off his shoulders. May he enjoy living in Texas!
My prayers are with Mr. Bush and President Obama as He is charged with leading this great country.
Do We Really Need This?
I start this by saying I am not an over political person. With that said, I think we can all agree on a bi-partisan basis that the extravagance of this years Presidential Inauguration is just ridiculous.
I vote conservative about 99% of the time, but in this economic [recession] time is it right for our government to be spending upwards of $170,000,000 [million] on this event? I would be writing with the same disgust if this was a conservative or green party inauguration.
It seems to be much like the pro sports salaries that seem to be sending a message to all Americans that money is not an issue, when plenty of Americans can’t pay their mortgage.
All I ask is this: Is this sending the right message? Did we not just have an economic bailout? Oh yeah, the American People are paying for it with our tax dollars.
Thanks for being responsible a government!
The Duel
In celebration of The Office returning last night, I offer you this fun friday distraction.
Play The Duel game between Dwight and Andy.
Why So Difficult?
So I have a question for my loyal readers out there. I have thought, prayed, pondered, cried [ok not really] and wrestled with the whole dating/relationship thing and would like some feedback. I know there is not a specific process to follow when pursuing a girl, but some outside thoughts are always good.
Here is the lead up to my question. I have never been the type of guy to be really forward with a girl that I am interested in. By the statement, really forward, I am not saying deceitful/sly. It is referring to the fact that when I like a girl, I tend to be reserved and shy around them. Basically, I don’t feel comfortable flat out saying, “I like you, do you like me” type of thing.
With that in mind, what is a good way to attack that situation? I would love to hear a girls perspective on this too. Is it weird to just flat out ask if she would be interested in dating? I know getting to know someone is very important, but after I have made that friendship, how is one to move to the next step. I am trying to find where that line is for me. I don’t want to come off as being cocky jerk, but at the same time, if the question is never asked I have found it never gets answered.
I’d love and appreciate your comments.
Why Acura?
I have been a “car” guy all my life. I love researching what new models are coming out and the modifications that will accompany them. I also am drawn to the styling cues that elicit feelings of awe and comments like, “wow, that car is just downright sexy!”
With that said, I ask the Acura what in the world were they thinking when they revised the Acura TL. 2009 brought the new model and when I first saw pictures I wanted to vomit. Now, I must admit that pictures can be deceiving so I thought I would hold my judgement till I saw it in person.
To say the least, I was still disgusted. Look at the 2005-2008 model years.

In my humble opinion, the 2009 TL did an injustice to all that was beautiful about the TL model.
Tuesday Recap
In a continuing effort to be more consistent at this blogging thing here’s a post.
Here are a few things about my Tuesday:
–Well, the work day was not very exciting, unless you call a 3 hour meeting at the end of the day exciting. So we will skip that part of my day.
–As the lead engineer for The Well SE campus I have been trying to meet with volunteers that I serve with. This is something I appreciate about The Well; their focus on taking care of the volunteers.
I had coffee with Art, one of the Video Techs, to find out what he is feeling now almost 4 months into SE. It was great conversation about life and church stuff.
–I went to Home Depot to get a few things for my house. The stuff I bought wasn’t very manly, [combo lock for the gym, flexible spout for my rain gutters and box of 1 1/4" dry wall screws] but I feel more manly in that store as I stated on Twitter.
–I resisted to buy fast food on the way home, because I need to eat better in general. I am also starting to train for the Millerton Triathlon so all I can do to help that effort is necessary.
–Instead, I made grilled hamburger patties and rice. Oh and in the middle of grilling my patties I had a door to door cleaner salesman come to my door. He was a nice guy, normal guilt trip strategy sales guy. I didn’t buy anything, but gave him a burger for the road.
–Sat down to watch American Idol. My DVR somehow deleted my schedule to record AI and Scrubs so I only got to watch the last hour of AI and no Scrubs (thank you online streaming!). Of what I saw, Stevie stood out; so did the chick in the bikini, but the only way she made it through was for tv ratings.
That about rounds out my Tuesday. This is unrelated to Tuesday, but my Mom was on Great Day Monday morning as part of Mayor Monday. [On the right side of the video, scroll down to Mayor Monday: Reedley Mayor Mary Fast] And yes she is the Mayor of Reedley.
First Annual
Roll Around in Your Office Chair Day in the admissions office on the campus of Fresno Pacific University.
If you are in the area, stop on by. You will see chairs rolling, people skipping and lunging. This is why admissions is one of the funnest offices to work in at FPU.
HAPPY FRIDAY!
10 Thoughts
From last nights BCS National Title game, the final AP rankings and the College Football Season
1. The first half was an exciting defensive battle
2. The Sooners blew 2 first half scoring opportunities that ended up costing them the game
3. Piercy Harvin played as good as Florida could have expected on an ankle at 90%
4. Sam Bradford made some big time throws that his receivers dropped
5. Tim Tebow [even though it's cliche] willed his team to victory in the 2nd half
6. I think the AP voted Utah #2 as a consolation for going undefeated, but they will never have a shot at the BCS title until the system changes
7. USC has the best defense in the country and would have beaten both teams last night.
8. USC’s loss to Oregon State was not judged as fairly as Florida’s HOME loss to Ole Miss
9. Doubters of the PAC-10’s strength need to look at the final bowl games. PAC-10=5-0 The only conference to go undefeated in the Bowl Season
10. Once again Pat Hill and his Fresno State Bulldogs were supposed to crash the BCS and yet again couldn’t win the WAC
I would love your comments
